Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi-Qushi-Fangbi-Fang (also known as Formulation A or Decoction A) is an investigational traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine for the prevention of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It is a novel formulation composed of eight herbs, representing an adaptation of two classic TCM formulas: Huangqi-Guizhi-Wuwu-Tang (HGWT) and Yiyiren-Tang (YYRT). The drug is administered orally and is specifically being studied in individuals at high risk for RA—those who are positive for anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) antibodies but have not yet developed clinical synovitis. Its mechanism of action involves broad anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, including the regulation of inflammatory cytokines and the inhibition of the NF-kappa-B, Interleukin-17, PI3K/Akt, and HIF-1-alpha signaling pathways.
