Overview
Yiqi Tongluo is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal prescription developed by the Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease, with a specific focus on preventing interventional restenosis and providing neuroprotection. The formulation is based on the TCM therapeutic principle of 'replenishing Qi and dredging collaterals' (Yiqi Tongluo), which is intended to improve blood circulation and support neurological recovery. Clinical research, including Phase 2 trials registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR), has evaluated its efficacy in reducing the incidence of restenosis and improving TCM-defined symptoms in patients undergoing vascular interventions.
