Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi Weixue Pian is a Chinese patent medicine (CPM) primarily indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and Qi-blood deficiency syndromes. The formulation typically consists of porcine-derived heme iron (hemoglobin powder) combined with traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, specifically *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi) and *Angelica sinensis* (Dangqui). It is widely utilized in obstetrics and gynecology for pregnancy-related anemia and postpartum recovery. The drug works by providing a highly bioavailable source of iron while the herbal components stimulate hematopoietic function and improve immune response. It is often used as an adjuvant to conventional oral iron supplements like ferrous succinate to enhance efficacy and reduce gastrointestinal side effects. The product is manufactured by Guangdong Medi-World Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Sinopharm.
