Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi Wenjing Prescriptions (also known as Yiqi-Wenjing-Fang or YWF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Nanjing NingQi Medicine Science and Technology Co., Ltd. for the prevention of oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy (OIPN) in patients with colorectal cancer. The formulation consists of granules derived from two classical TCM prescriptions: Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction (HGWD) and Danggui Sini decoction (DSD). HGWD is composed of *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Cinnamomum cassia*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, *Zingiber officinale*, and *Ziziphus jujuba*, while DSD includes *Angelica sinensis*, *Cinnamomum cassia*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, *Asarum*, *Tetrapanax papyriferus*, *Ziziphus jujuba*, and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*. These components are theorized to work synergistically by tonifying qi and warming the meridians to mitigate the neurotoxic effects of oxaliplatin. The drug is currently being evaluated in a Phase III multicenter clinical trial.
