Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqi Xiaozheng Tang (益气消癥汤) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoction widely used in China as an adjuvant therapy for various malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), gastric cancer, and colorectal cancer, as well as for benign conditions like uterine fibroids. The formula is constructed based on the TCM principles of replenishing Qi (Yiqi) to support the body's vital energy and eliminating masses (Xiaozheng) to resolve pathological stasis and tumors. It typically comprises a complex mixture of herbs such as *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Atractylodes macrocephala*, *Curcuma zedoaria*, and *Scutellaria barbata*. Pharmacological research indicates that the decoction works through multiple pathways, including the inhibition of tumor angiogenesis, induction of apoptosis in cancer cells, and modulation of the immune system by improving the CD4+/CD8+ T-cell ratio. It is frequently administered alongside conventional chemotherapy to enhance therapeutic efficacy and mitigate treatment-related side effects.
