Overview
Yiqilishui formula is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation under investigation for the treatment of sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction (SIMD). The pathogenesis of SIMD in TCM is described as "deficiency of Qi with water overflow and blood stasis and toxin blocking the channels." The Yiqilishui formula is designed to invigorate Qi, promote diuresis, detoxify, and unblock channels. It is administered as granules orally or via nasogastric tube. Its mechanism involves supporting cardiac function and reducing inflammation through multi-targeted herbal actions typical of TCM formulas. Clinical trials are ongoing to evaluate its efficacy and safety in combination with standard Western medical care for SIMD[1][2].
