Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yiqitongluo granule (YQTL) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed as a botanical drug for cerebrovascular diseases. It is manufactured by China Shineway Pharmaceutical Group Ltd. [13]. YQTL is a complex herbal mixture that has shown therapeutic effects against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (CIRI) and ischemic stroke in preclinical and clinical studies. Research indicates that its neuroprotective effects are mediated through multiple pathways, including the inhibition of nerve cell apoptosis by enhancing the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and modulating the NMDAR/ERK1/2 signaling pathway. [13, 17] Clinical trials are evaluating its efficacy in conditions associated with qi deficiency and blood stasis, such as the convalescence of ischemic stroke, stable coronary artery disease, and diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
