Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yishen Jianpi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula or therapeutic regimen developed by Dongzhimen Hospital Affiliated to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is formulated based on the TCM principles of "Yishen" (invigorating the kidney) and "Jianpi" (strengthening the spleen). The formula is primarily investigated for the treatment of male infertility, specifically targeting oligospermia (low sperm count) and asthenospermia (reduced sperm motility). In TCM theory, the kidney is the primary organ responsible for reproduction and essence, while the spleen is the source of postnatal qi and blood; tonifying both is intended to improve the physiological environment for sperm production and maturation.
