Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yishen Tongluo Fang (YSTLF) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Professor Sun Zixue at the Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Composed of multiple herbs including *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen) and *Cuscuta australis* (Tu Si Zi), the formula is designed to "tonify the kidney and clear collaterals" to address the TCM syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis. It is clinically utilized for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), male infertility (specifically oligoasthenozoospermia), and diabetic erectile dysfunction. Research indicates that YSTLF exerts its therapeutic effects by regulating the Sirt6/TGF-β1/Smad2/3 signaling pathway, modulating mitochondrial dysfunction, reducing inflammation and apoptosis, and repairing sperm DNA damage. It is typically administered orally as a decoction or in granule form.
