Yishen Tongluo Formula

Yishen Tongluo Formula (YSTLF) is a traditional Chinese medicine prescription, noted to be created by Professor Sun Zixue of Henan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. [5, 6] It is clinically investigated for treating conditions such as diabetic kidney disease, varicocele, and male infertility issues like oligoasthenozoospermia and idiopathic asthenozoospermia. [2, 5, 10] Studies indicate that the formula works through multiple mechanisms, including the regulation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR and Sirt6/TGF-β1/Smad2/3 signaling pathways, modulation of apoptosis and inflammation, and exertion of antioxidant effects by reducing oxidative stress. [2, 5, 10, 12] As a traditional formula, its exact composition can vary between preparations, but commonly cited ingredients include herbs like Salvia miltiorrhiza, Epimedium brevicornum, and Astragalus membranaceus.
