Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yishen Zhishuang Granules (often identified in clinical literature as Yishen Zhishuai Granules) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound formula developed by Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, specifically by the research team led by Professor He Liqun. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The formula is designed to tonify the kidney, clear heat, and resolve stasis, with the clinical goal of reducing proteinuria and hematuria while stabilizing renal function. Pharmacologically, it has been shown to inhibit the TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway, which is a key driver of renal fibrosis and glomerulosclerosis. It also exerts immunomodulatory effects by reducing the production of inflammatory cytokines and potentially affecting the mucosal immune system's production of galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1).
