Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yisheng Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and associated chronic pelvic pain. Developed and manufactured by Guizhou Yisheng Pharmaceutical, the drug is composed of several botanical extracts, including *Leonurus japonicus* (Motherwort), *Angelica sinensis*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, *Cyperus rotundus*, *Poria cocos*, *Atractylodes macrocephala*, and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*. Its therapeutic action is characterized by anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Mechanistically, the active phytochemicals (such as leonurine, paeoniflorin, and ferulic acid) inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory mediators, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), while also modulating cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity. Additionally, the formulation is designed to improve pelvic microcirculation and promote the resolution of inflammatory adhesions and masses. In the context of TCM, it is used to address conditions categorized by "Qi deficiency and blood stasis."
