YKP-1358 is a novel investigational atypical antipsychotic small molecule developed by SK Biopharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. It functions as an antagonist at serotonin 5-HT2A and 5-HT2C receptors, and dopamine D2 and D3 receptors. Preclinical studies indicated its potential efficacy in treating both positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia with a low propensity for extrapyramidal side effects. It progressed to Phase 1 clinical trials for schizophrenia in the United States before its development was discontinued.
