Overview

YKYY013 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic designed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Developed by Beijing Yuekang Kecheng Pharmaceutical Technology (a subsidiary of Yuekang Pharmaceutical Group) in collaboration with Hangzhou Tianlong Pharmaceutical, the drug utilizes RNA interference (RNAi) technology to target and degrade HBV-specific messenger RNA (mRNA) transcripts. By silencing the expression of viral genes across all major HBV transcripts, YKYY013 aims to significantly reduce the production of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and other viral proteins. This reduction is intended to alleviate the immune suppression caused by high viral protein loads, potentially restoring the host's immune response and facilitating a functional cure. The drug is typically administered via subcutaneous injection and utilizes a liver-targeted delivery system, likely based on N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) conjugation.
