Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YKYY015 is an investigational monoclonal antibody developed by Hangzhou Tianlong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. It functions as an antagonist to proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9). By binding to PCSK9, YKYY015 prevents it from interacting with low-density lipoprotein receptors (LDLR) on the surface of hepatocytes, which would otherwise lead to the degradation of these receptors. The resulting increase in LDLR density on the liver cell surface enhances the clearance of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) from the plasma. YKYY015 is formulated for subcutaneous injection and has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics.
