YKYY032 is an investigational GalNAc-conjugated small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Beijing Yuekang Kechuang Pharmaceutical Technology and Hangzhou Tianlong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of hyperlipoproteinemia (a). It utilizes a proprietary delivery platform to target the mRNA of the *LPA* gene in hepatocytes, leading to the degradation of the transcript and a subsequent reduction in the production of Apolipoprotein(a) [Apo(a)]. Since Apo(a) is a critical component of Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)], its suppression results in significantly lowered circulating Lp(a) levels. High Lp(a) is a genetically determined, independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, including myocardial infarction and stroke, for which there are currently limited targeted pharmacological treatments. YKYY032 is currently being evaluated in early-stage clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic effects on Lp(a) reduction.
