YMN-M12 is an investigational intranasal adenoviral-vectored cancer vaccine developed by West China Hospital, Sichuan University. It is designed to express Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 3 (IMP3) as a tumor-associated antigen and Interleukin-12 (IL-12) as an immunomodulatory cytokine. The vaccine is administered intranasally to induce both mucosal and systemic immune responses, specifically targeting advanced solid tumors with pulmonary metastases. By delivering IL-12 locally in the respiratory tract, it aims to enhance the recruitment and activation of T cells and natural killer cells within the lung microenvironment, potentially overcoming immunosuppression in metastatic sites. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in combination with standard second-line antineoplastic therapies.
