Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YN001 is a proprietary targeted nano-drug developed for the treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD), including coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis. It is designed as a liposomal nano-drug that encapsulates its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) with a targeting head to enable precise delivery to inflammatory plaques in blood vessels. This targeted approach aims to increase drug concentration at sites of plaque formation and actively reverse the development of atherosclerotic plaques—a significant unmet need in cardiovascular medicine. Mechanistically, YN001 acts as an inhibitor of both CD44 antigen and HMG-CoA reductase, combining anti-inflammatory and lipid-lowering effects. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and preliminary efficacy in healthy volunteers and patients with coronary artery disease or coronary atherosclerosis[2][4][5].
