Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YN051 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), developed by Yantai United Biopharmaceutical (YNBP). It is being developed as a biosimilar to adalimumab for the treatment of various autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, including plaque psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. By binding specifically to TNF-α, YN051 prevents the cytokine from interacting with its receptors (TNFR1 and TNFR2), thereby inhibiting the downstream pro-inflammatory signaling pathways that drive tissue damage and disease progression. The drug has completed Phase 1 clinical evaluation in China, where it was assessed for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic bioequivalence compared to the reference product, Humira.
