yogagliptin

Yogagliptin is a selective, orally active dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor developed by Chengdu Yuandong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. As a member of the 'gliptin' class, it functions by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which is responsible for the rapid degradation of incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). By prolonging the activity of these hormones, yogagliptin enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and suppresses glucagon release from alpha cells, leading to improved glycemic control and reduced HbA1c levels. The drug has primarily been developed and evaluated in clinical trials within China.
