Yogaraja Guggulu

Yogaraja Guggulu is a traditional multi-ingredient Ayurvedic and Sri Lankan traditional medicine (STM) herbal formulation primarily used to treat musculoskeletal and joint disorders, such as knee osteoarthritis (referred to as 'Sandhigata Vata' in traditional systems) and rheumatoid arthritis. It is a complex botanical mixture containing guggulu resin (*Commiphora mukul*) combined with various synergistic herbs (such as ginger, black pepper, and long pepper) that possess anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antioxidant properties. In clinical trials, such as those sponsored by the University of Colombo, Yogaraja Guggulu is administered orally as part of a multi-component regimen alongside the Rasnadvigunabhagasaya (RDBD) herbal decoction and external preparations to manage pain and stiffness in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
