Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yougui Wan is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originating from the *Jingyue Quanshu* (1624 AD). It is primarily used to treat kidney-yang deficiency, a syndrome characterized by symptoms such as cold limbs, fatigue, and lower back pain. The formula consists of ten herbs: *Rehmannia glutinosa*, *Dioscorea opposita*, *Cornus officinalis*, *Lycium barbarum*, *Eucommia ulmoides*, *Cuscuta chinensis*, *Angelica sinensis*, *Cinnamomum cassia*, *Aconitum carmichaelii* (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), and *Cervi Cornus Colla*. In modern clinical practice, it is utilized for conditions including knee osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, perimenopausal syndrome, and reproductive disorders like premature ovarian failure and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Research indicates it may delay the progression of osteoarthritis by inhibiting the EGFR/ERK/FOS signaling pathway in cartilage tissue.
