Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YPI-011 is a fixed-dose combination drug consisting of rabeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3). It is developed as a non-enteric coated, immediate-release formulation designed for faster gastric acid suppression compared to conventional, enteric-coated rabeprazole. The sodium bicarbonate acts as an antacid salt, which allows rabeprazole to be absorbed rapidly, leading to a quicker onset of action in reducing gastric acidity. Clinical studies have demonstrated that YPI-011 achieves similar systemic exposure and acid suppression efficacy as standard enteric-coated rabeprazole but with a more rapid pharmacodynamic response. The primary clinical indication is gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and related acid-related disorders[5].
