Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YR-F102 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor developed by Sichuan Enray Pharmaceutical Sciences. It targets the C-terminal domain (CTD) of ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 (FSP1), also known as apoptosis-inducing factor mitochondria-associated 2 (AIFM2). By binding to the CTD, which also serves as the coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) binding pocket, YR-F102 interferes with the dimerization of FSP1 monomers. Since FSP1 must form homodimers to exert its anti-ferroptotic function, YR-F102-mediated inhibition of dimerization suppresses the FSP1-CoQ10-NAD(P)H pathway, thereby promoting ferroptosis in cancer cells. This program is being developed as a potential therapeutic strategy for the treatment of solid tumors.
