Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YR-G591 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor of glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) being developed by Sichuan Enray Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a derivative of YR-G346, YR-G591 is designed to precisely target the selenocysteine active site of the GPX4 protein, thereby blocking the glutathione regeneration pathway. This inhibition leads to the accumulation of lipid peroxides and triggers ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death. YR-G591 is being investigated for its potential to enhance the sensitivity of tumor cells to ferroptosis for the treatment of cancer.
