YR001

YR001 is a novel small molecule drug developed by Hangzhou Yirui Pharmaceutical Technology for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. It functions as a selective inhibitor (blocker) of the voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv1.3, an ion channel implicated in immune cell activation and chronic inflammatory responses. The drug is primarily formulated as a topical ointment for skin diseases but has also been developed in an oral formulation for systemic autoimmune conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease and alopecia. Clinical studies have demonstrated favorable safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profiles, with localization predominantly to the skin following topical administration. As of June 2025, it is in Phase II clinical trials for atopic dermatitis and Phase I/II development for other indications including psoriasis[2][3][4][6].
