YS5 is a novel human monoclonal antibody that targets a tumor-selective epitope on CD46 (Cluster of Differentiation 46), a complement regulatory protein that is highly overexpressed in various malignancies, including prostate cancer. Developed by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), YS5 serves as a versatile targeting vector for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. In clinical trials, it is being evaluated as an immunoPET imaging agent when radiolabeled with Zirconium-89 ([89Zr]DFO-YS5) to detect CD46-positive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Furthermore, YS5 is the antibody component of the antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) known as FOR46 (also called FG3246), which has demonstrated clinical activity in Phase 1 trials for advanced prostate cancer.
