YST-OVH is an oncolytic virus therapy based on a genetically modified Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1). Developed by the National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in Infectious Diseases (NIDVD) at Xiamen University, the virus is engineered to selectively infect, replicate within, and lyse malignant tumor cells while sparing normal healthy tissue. This selective replication leads to direct oncolysis, which releases tumor-associated antigens and danger-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) into the tumor microenvironment. This process is intended to overcome local immunosuppression and stimulate a systemic, durable antitumor immune response. YST-OVH is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of various malignant tumors.
