YTS102 is an autologous STAR-T (Synthetic T cell receptor and Antigen Receptor T cell) cell therapy developed by China Immunotech (Beijing) Biotechnology (also known as Bristar Immunotech) for the treatment of Glypican-3 (GPC3)-positive solid tumors, specifically hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer). The STAR-T platform utilizes a synthetic receptor that incorporates the antigen-binding domain of an antibody with the signaling machinery of a T-cell receptor (TCR) complex, which is designed to offer enhanced sensitivity and reduced exhaustion compared to traditional CAR-T cells. YTS102 is further engineered to express CXCR2 (C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2), a modification intended to improve the trafficking and infiltration of the T cells into the solid tumor microenvironment by following chemokine gradients (such as IL-8) typically secreted by liver cancer cells. The therapy is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation.
