Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yttrium-90 chloride solution is a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical precursor containing the radionuclide yttrium-90 (Y-90). Y-90 is a high-energy beta-emitting isotope with a half-life of approximately 64.1 hours. It is primarily utilized as a raw material for the radiolabeling of various therapeutic agents, including monoclonal antibodies, peptides, and microspheres, for targeted radionuclide therapy. Additionally, the solution is used directly in clinical applications such as radiosynovectomy for the treatment of chronic inflammatory joint diseases. The beta radiation emitted by Y-90 has a maximum energy of 2.28 MeV and a mean tissue penetration depth of 2.5 mm, which allows for localized cytotoxic effects on tumor cells or inflamed synovial tissue while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy structures. Chengdu New Radiomedicine Technology is a major developer and large-scale manufacturer of this isotope solution, maintaining significant production capacity for clinical and research applications.
