Overview

Yttrium Y 90 monoclonal antibody B3 is a radiolabeled murine monoclonal antibody targeting the LewisY carbohydrate antigen, which is expressed on the surface of many epithelial carcinomas. The drug consists of the murine mAb B3 conjugated to the beta-emitting radioisotope yttrium-90 (Y-90), enabling targeted radioimmunotherapy. Upon administration, the antibody binds to LewisY-expressing tumor cells and delivers localized radiation via Y-90 decay, aiming to destroy malignant cells while sparing normal tissue. Phase I clinical trials have demonstrated tumor localization and established myelosuppression as a dose-limiting toxicity. Humanized versions are under development for further evaluation in cancer therapy[1][4].
