Yttrium y 90 monoclonal antibody m170 is a radioimmunotherapeutic agent consisting of the murine monoclonal antibody m170 conjugated to the radioactive isotope yttrium-90 via a chelating linker (commonly 2IT-BAD). The m170 antibody targets adenocarcinomas and has been studied primarily in patients with androgen-independent metastatic prostate cancer and advanced breast cancer. The mechanism involves targeted delivery of beta-emitting radiation directly to tumor cells expressing the antigen recognized by m170, resulting in localized cytotoxicity. This approach aims to maximize tumor cell kill while minimizing systemic toxicity. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Y-90-m170 can specifically target bone and soft tissue metastases in prostate and breast cancers, with primary toxicities being reversible myelosuppression. Cyclosporine has been used concomitantly to reduce human anti-mouse antibody responses[1][3][6].
