Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yuanhu Zhitong dispersible tablets is an approved traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Chengdu Yongkon Pharmacy (a subsidiary of Tonghua Golden Horse) for the treatment of stomach pain, hypochondriac pain, headache, and dysmenorrhea associated with qi stagnation and blood stasis. The formulation is composed of two primary herbal ingredients: Rhizoma Corydalis (Yuanhu) and Radix Angelicae Dahuricae (Baizhi). The active constituents, including alkaloids like tetrahydropalmatine and protopine, exert analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and spasmolytic effects. These effects are mediated through multi-target interactions, including the antagonism of dopamine D2 receptors and muscarinic M2 receptors, as well as the activation of 5-HT1A, mu-opioid, and beta-2 adrenergic receptors.
