Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yuebi Jia-Banxia decoction is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula used for the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD), particularly for patients presenting with the phlegm-heat stagnation syndrome. The decoction is a modification of the traditional Yuebi formula, which typically includes *Ephedra*, *Gypsum*, *Ginger*, *Jujube*, and *Licorice*, with the addition of *Pinellia ternata* (Banxia). It is being investigated by the Panyu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for its potential to modulate the AGE-RAGE (Advanced Glycation End-products and their Receptor) signaling pathway, thereby reducing pulmonary inflammation and improving clinical outcomes in AECOPD patients.
