Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YuKuiQing (also known as Yu Kui Qing) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed as an oral granule formulation for the treatment of early-stage type 2 diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). It is a multi-herb formula composed of *Abelmoschus manihot* (Huang Shu Kui), *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huang Qi), and processed *Polygonum multiflorum* (Zhi Shou Wu) in a 30:1.5:1 ratio. YuKuiQing exerts reno-protective and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the upregulation of advanced glycation end product (AGE)-induced chemokines, specifically monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2) and fractalkine (CX3CL1), thereby reducing monocyte transmigration and adhesion to human renal mesangial cells.
