Overview
YUN ATO is a topical probiotic skincare product developed by the Belgian company YUN Probiotherapie for the management of symptoms associated with atopic eczema (atopic dermatitis). The formulation utilizes live probiotic bacteria, typically from the *Lactobacillus* genus, which are micro-encapsulated to maintain their viability within the product. Upon application to the skin, these micro-capsules break, releasing the live bacteria to modulate the skin microbiome. The primary mechanism involves outcompeting pathogenic bacteria, such as *Staphylococcus aureus*, which are often overrepresented in eczema-prone skin, thereby helping to restore the natural skin barrier and reduce inflammation.
