Overview
Yunnan Baiyao ointment is a topical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Yunnan Baiyao Group for the management of musculoskeletal pain and traumatic injuries. While the complete formula is a protected state secret in China, it is known to contain *Panax notoginseng* and other botanical extracts that work synergistically to promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, and reduce inflammation. The ointment is indicated for a variety of conditions, including osteoarthritis, cervical spondylosis, low back pain, and soft tissue injuries such as rotator cuff injuries and epicondylitis. It is typically applied topically to the affected area to provide localized relief of pain and swelling.
