Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yunpi Jiedu Tongluo Qushi Granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) multi-herbal formulation developed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and related inflammatory conditions. It is used as an adjunct or alternative to conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), particularly in China. The granule contains a combination of herbal ingredients designed to "invigorate the spleen," "detoxify," "unblock collaterals," and "dispel dampness" according to TCM theory. Modern pharmacological studies suggest that its mechanism involves anti-inflammatory effects, including modulation of immune responses and reduction of oxidative stress. Proteomic and network pharmacology analyses have identified S100A8 as a key anti-inflammatory target, indicating that the granule may exert its therapeutic effect by downregulating pro-inflammatory mediators such as S100A8[8][9]. Clinical trials have evaluated its efficacy in rheumatoid arthritis, often in combination with Western medicines[2][7][10].
