Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yunpi Quzhuo is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granule formulation developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Hu'nan University of Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of hyperuricemia and the preclinical phase of gout. The formula is designed based on the TCM principles of "Yunpi" (strengthening the spleen's transport function) and "Quzhuo" (eliminating metabolic turbidity), which in modern clinical terms translates to promoting the excretion of uric acid and regulating metabolic dysfunction. It is often studied in combination with or in comparison to conventional Western therapies like allopurinol to evaluate its efficacy in lowering serum uric acid levels and preventing the progression to clinical gout.
