Overview
Yunpi Yishen Jiedu Tongdu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of active ankylosing spondylitis and spondyloarthropathy. The formula is designed based on the TCM therapeutic principles of invigorating the spleen (Yunpi), tonifying the kidney (Yishen), clearing heat and detoxifying (Jiedu), and unblocking the Du meridian (Tongdu). It is currently being evaluated in clinical research to establish high-quality evidence for its synergistic effects and its potential to reduce the toxicity of conventional treatments, with a specific focus on preventing the progression of undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy into defined conditions like ankylosing spondylitis.
