Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yunpingfang Jiawei granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine. It is specifically formulated to treat vertigo (dizziness) associated with conditions such as Meniere's disease, vestibular migraine, and cervical spondylosis of the vertebral artery type. The formulation is based on the classic Banxia Baizhu Tianma Tang, modified with additional herbs to enhance its efficacy in extinguishing internal wind, resolving phlegm, and tonifying the spleen. Pharmacological studies indicate that the granules work by improving blood flow velocity in the vertebral and basilar arteries, reducing blood viscosity, and potentially regulating endolymphatic pressure in the inner ear. It is commonly used in clinical practice in China for patients presenting with the Wind-Phlegm Up-disturbing pattern of vertigo.
