Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yunv Decoction (also known as Yunvjian or YNJ) is a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription historically used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, particularly in the context of lung and respiratory conditions. It has demonstrated therapeutic effects in clinical treatment of pneumonia and acute lung injury. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of pyroptosis (a form of programmed cell death associated with inflammation) in lung epithelial cells and macrophages by suppressing the NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway. Key absorbed active ingredients identified include diosgenin, timosaponin BII, and mangiferin, which contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects. Studies show that Yunv Decoction reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β), promotes macrophage polarization toward an M2 phenotype (anti-inflammatory), decreases oxidative stress markers, and improves respiratory function in models of acute lung injury[5].
