Overview
Yunzhi capsules (云芝菌胶囊) is an approved traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) product developed by Jiangsu Shenhua Pharmaceutical. It is derived from the medicinal mushroom *Coriolus versicolor* (also known as *Trametes versicolor* or Turkey Tail). The primary active components are polysaccharides, specifically polysaccharide-K (PSK) and polysaccharide-peptide (PSP), which function as immunomodulators. These compounds enhance the activity of T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes, macrophages, and natural killer (NK) cells. Yunzhi capsules are primarily indicated as an adjuvant therapy for various cancers (to mitigate the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy), chronic hepatitis, and recurrent respiratory tract infections by boosting the host's immune response.
