Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yupingfeng Guizhi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation, typically administered as granules, developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), specifically for patients with the wind-cold-dampness Bi syndrome who have been exposed to hormones. The formulation is a combination of the classical Yupingfeng San (Jade Windscreen Powder) and Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig). It is thought to modulate the intestinal flora and adrenal cortex function, potentially mitigating the side effects of long-term hormone therapy and addressing the underlying immune dysregulation in RA.
