Yupingfeng Powder with variation

Yupingfeng Powder with variation (YPV) is a modified traditional Chinese herbal formula developed by the School of Chinese Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is specifically designed for the treatment of allergic rhinitis in patients exhibiting lung and spleen Qi deficiency. The formulation consists of nine herbal ingredients: *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Saposhnikovia divaricate* (Fangfeng), *Atractylodes macrocephala* (Baizhu), *Magnolia denudata* (Xinyihua), *Xanthium sibiricum* (Cangerzi), *Ganoderma lucidum* (Chilingzhi), *Platycodon grandiflorus* (Jiegeng), *Dictamnus dasycarpus* (Baixianpi), and *Cordyceps sinensis* (Chongcaojunsifen). YPV functions by modulating immune responses, specifically targeting cytokines such as interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interleukin-17 (IL-17), reducing immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels, and altering gut microbiota composition. It is administered orally as granules.
