Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Yutianqing (rabeprazole sodium) is an enteric-coated capsule formulation of the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) rabeprazole, developed and marketed by Zhejiang H.Power Pharmaceutical. It is indicated for the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers (gastric and duodenal), and gastritis. Rabeprazole works by covalently binding to and inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme (the proton pump) in the secretory canaliculi of gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing the final step of gastric acid secretion. The enteric coating protects the acid-labile rabeprazole from degradation in the stomach, ensuring its delivery to and absorption in the small intestine.
