Yuyangsan enema II is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Nanjing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is designed for the treatment of active ulcerative colitis, particularly in patients diagnosed with the damp-heat in the large intestine pattern according to TCM theory. Administered rectally as an enema, the drug is intended to reduce colonic inflammation and promote mucosal healing. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials as an adjunctive therapy to standard-of-care mesalamine to improve clinical outcomes in patients with mild to moderate disease.
