Drug intelligence / Profile preview
YYD302 is a novel, high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel cross-linked with divinyl sulfone (DVS), developed by Yooyoung Pharmaceutical for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Designed as a single-injection viscosupplement, YYD302 aims to restore the rheological properties of synovial fluid, providing mechanical lubrication and shock absorption to the joint. The DVS cross-linking process enhances the viscoelasticity and intra-articular residence time of the HA compared to linear formulations, potentially offering prolonged symptomatic relief from pain and improved joint function. Clinical studies, including Phase I/IIa and Phase 3 trials, have evaluated its efficacy using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for pain and the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS).
