Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Z010 is a self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) vaccine candidate being developed by Ziphius Therapeutics for the prevention of coronavirus infections, specifically designed as a 'Pan Corona' vaccine to provide broad protection. Unlike conventional mRNA vaccines, the saRNA platform used in Z010 includes a replicase component that allows the RNA to self-amplify once inside the cell. This mechanism leads to sustained and high-level expression of the encoded coronavirus antigens, which can trigger a robust immune response at lower doses than standard mRNA. Z010 is currently in preclinical development and aims to address multiple variants or types of coronaviruses.
