Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZA-001 refers to at least two distinct investigational drugs in China, each developed by a different organization and for different indications. One version of ZA-001 is a synthetic peptide developed by Zhongao Biomedical Technology (Guangdong Co. Ltd.) with preclinical development focused on neoplasms, infectious diseases, and skin/musculoskeletal diseases, including condylomata acuminata and melanoma[1]. Another version of ZA-001 is an alpha-particle-emitting radiopharmaceutical (At211-labeled) antibody developed by Sichuan University for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer; this agent is currently in early phase 1 clinical trials[2][3]. The mechanism of action for both versions has not been publicly disclosed.
